This Valentines day many of you beautiful ladies around the world have received decadent gourmet chocolates, red fragrant roses, and the most charished gifts of them all.. gold and diamonds! Yay!!! I’m sure your still so excited that he hasn’t managed to stop you from bouncing off the walls yet! So what does this have to do with selling jewelry? You got it ladies, out with the old and in with the new!

Now before you decide to stash your old stuff into a box to never be seen again, cut ties with it! Now, it’s obvious that if your removing jewelry that has deep sentimental value your probably don’t want to sell it. However, that doesn’t mean you there isn’t some old stuff in your jewelry box that you can’t cash in on. You could use the extra cash to put towards a vacation for two, a girls night out (to show off your ring of course), pay off a bill he doesn’t know about (shhhh…), or whatever you see fit!

Selling your old jewelry online using a cash for gold service is easy, simple, and hassle free. It can all be done over the phone or online and is super easy. Simply choose a cash for gold company you trust by reading our cash for gold reviews, request a gold kit, and send it out for free. You’ll receive an appraisal offer once they receive your items and you get to choose whether you want to accept the deal or not. If you decide to sell your items you can receive your payment by check, bank transfer, or Paypal. It’s that easy!

As always, good luck from GoldVox.com and have fun showing off your gorgeous new ring to family and friends.

P.S. I hope you make enough money to see how bright your new jewelry shines on the beach!

Since the first day GoldVox.com went online I had hoped my review site would help people in some way or another. To my amazement Goldvox has helped more people than I could have imagined. Months before it’s inception I had been reading blogs and watching news broadcasts of people ranting about cash for gold scams cheating hard working Americans. I had a pretty cynical view of the whole process thinking all cash for gold websites were wolves in sheep’s clothing. Though it seemed true… that was an unfair assessment on my behalf. There are in fact honest gold buyers who do not cheat their customers and managed to make a profit to keep their business doors open.

However, even though there are some great cash for gold companies I also know that there are some really bad scams. They herd thousands of customers through a rotating door just to hand them a couple of measly dollars and a lolly pop. Now… I am a realist and I know that not everyone can be a winner. That’s just not how the game of life works. However, I can to try to offset as many of the cash for gold scams that I find. With every cash for gold review you read here at GoldVox.com there is an everyday person just like you who took a chance and mailed away their gold jewelry. Thankfully some of our visitors have returned to write a cash for gold review, and I thank you. It’s those cash for gold reviews that have steered others clear of the cash for gold scam and in the direction of honest gold buyers.

Remember, GoldVox.com cash for gold reviews only work if you contribute and write a review after you have sold your gold jewelry. Whether your experience was good or bad please let others know. Without your reviews our rating system cannot adjust and promote honest gold buyers. It’s the little things like these that help the community in a big way. Once again, thanks for reading and good luck selling your gold!

P.S. I’m sure you’re aware they really don’t send you a lolly pop when you sell your gold. But if they did send you something of the sort I’d hope it was at least chocolate.

It’s not to early to get ready for Thanksgiving!

This year has been one of the toughest years I’ve ever had when it came to save money for the holidays! It seems like it’s getting harder as each holiday passes. Thankfully we made it through Halloween with a $13.00 1st prize werewolf costume I made for my son [...]

This year has been one of the toughest years I’ve ever had when it came to save money for the holidays! It seems like it’s getting harder as each holiday passes. Thankfully we made it through Halloween with a $13.00 1st prize werewolf costume I made for my son with a little fabric glue, faux fur, and clothing from the goodwill store.

Now we are off to Thanksgiving – Yummmm! Normally my family pulls together and we each have our assigned items to bring. But lately I’ve been hearing a lot of friends, co-workers, and even my own family saying it’s not going to be like last year because of a bad economy and a tight budget. It’s sounding like we might not have any of the 15 spice delights and home baked goodies we normally try to bring. Well, even though our money might be tight this year we have a lot of mismatched gold earrings, broken gold chains, and ugly gold bracelets we are going to sell to keep the table full with all the fixings for the family this year!

Since gold is STILL doing great it’s the perfect time for families to cash in! With about three weeks (Yes only THREE!) left until the next holiday you still have time. The good news is most gold buyers can process your gold and get you a check in the mail in 24-72 hours so don’t feel pressured to sell immediately. Take your time and see how much you can find around the house or better yet, talk to your family and see if they have any items to sell. Read our reviews to find an honest buyer and sell it all at once for one big thanksgiving check! Good luck!

P.S. Here is my favorite receipe. I make this every year for Thanksgiving! Enjoy!

If you’re looking to sell your gold jewelry for some easy cash there are three options most people have to choose from. Deciding which one is best for you will depend on convenience, order processing speed, and how much money you are expecting to get back. All right, so let’s get started!

Selling Gold at a Pawn Shop

The least likely place to sell your gold for cash is a pawn shop. Pawn shops are known to pay bottom dollar for jewelry and will usually pressure the seller to take their offer by telling them that they won’t get more for the jewelry at any other place. This is usually a deceitful tactic used to force the disadvantaged customer into selling. Although this is probably not the best choice, if you must go to a pawn shop here are some tips to help you out.

Never go alone – It’s easy for pawn shops to take advantage of an individual rather than two people. Bringing along a friend or family member can help you decide when it’s time to walk away. If you’re being pressured to make an unfair sale your friend or family member can pull you away before it’s too late.

Bring along a purchase receipt – Although this normally won’t get you exactly retail value for your items, a purchase receipt can validate your initial asking amount. From there however, you’re on your own.

Compare similar jewelry prices in their display cases - Look for a similar item of quality and note the sale price. A good rule of thumb is to expect their starting offer to be 2/3 the value of the sale price in the display case or less. At that point you should try to up the amount and see if you can find an acceptable offer. If you still feel uncomfortable with the offer, your friend should be telling you it’s time to go! You did bring a friend right?

It’s quite obvious that going to a pawn shop is not the best options for selling your gold items. They can be crowded, unpleasant, located in a bad neighborhood, or make you feel completely uncomfortable. This brings us to a more pleasant option.

Selling Gold to a Jewelry Store

Jewelry stores on average will make you a reasonable offer, and most of the time they are in a much more comfortable setting. Your items will more than likely be appraised professionally so don’t expect to negotiate much. The initial offer normally stands and since they have access to mounds of inventory they probably won’t be disappointed if you walk away. However, we are talking about gold so if you have several pieces of fine jewelry that you would not consider “scrap gold” you could make a good profit at a jewelry store.

Selling Gold to a Cash for Gold Buyer

The last option is to sell your gold to a Cash for Gold company using a prepaid “Gold Kit”. This is probably the most convenient method of selling gold. Here is how the process works. Normally you will visit their website and request a FREE “Gold Kit” to be sent to you directly in the mail.

Your gold kit will contain more or less the following items:

An introduction pamphlet with a company overview

Instructions on how to inventory and mail your items

A prepaid mailing label or FedEx envelope

A protective jewelry container or a secure puncture proof sealable bag

Depending on the mailing method you chose you may be able track your package online as it travels to the Cash for Gold facility. Once your items have have arrived safely they will be inventoried and appraised. The exact processing time varies at each company. Some companies process your items within 24 hours while others can take up to 7 days. If you need money fast make sure you know how long the processing time will be, otherwise you could be waiting for up to a week!

The final step is to accept or decline their offer. Some companies will email you their offer as a convenience while others prefer to conduct the sale exclusivly over the phone. One tip that you might want to remember is that almost all Cash for Gold companies have a “Save the Sale” strategy that the customer service representative will follow. Normally if you decline the first offer they will raise the initial amount by 10-15%. In some instances (especially if you send 24 karat gold pieces) they will increase the offer up to 20% just to get you to accept. If you do finally accept, you can choose to be paid overnight by direct deposit, check, or even Pay Pal.

If you decided not to sell your scrap gold items almost all of the Cash for Gold companies have a 72 hour money back guarantee. If you decline within the allowed time they will mail your items back to you at no charge. However, make sure you read the terms and conditions of their money back guarantee before you send them your gold jewelry.

I hope this article has helped you along the way to selling your gold jewelry. Just remember to take your time and research several companies before you sell. For those of you interested in selling your gold jewelry online using a Cash for Gold service, please visit GoldVox.com before you sell. They provide consumer reviews, customer service ratings, and BBB information that can help you find the best cash for gold companies around.

If you’re feeling a bit uneasy about the economy lately you might be considering purchasing gold. One of the most convenient ways is online. Most people are aware that gold has real value and is one of the best ways to convert paper cash into something more financially secure. If you have been looking online you know that there are thousands of websites to buy gold online. Here are just a few things you should do before you buy from an online gold dealer.

Know what type of gold you want to buy.

In reality there are many qualities that define the value and type of gold that is for sale. Generally speaking you’ll have two main purchasing options: gold bullion bars and gold coins. The most popular choice is usually gold coins. Gold coins have many advantages because they are portable, vary in quality, and are commonly used and recognized. However, the true deciding fact is normally your budget. Which brings us to the next item on our list.

Decide how much you want to spend.

It is important to have a strict budget because you can easily get worked up when you think about the economy. Make sure you plan accordingly and speak to your financial advisor or investment broker before you buy gold online. Once you have decided on a budget you will need to check if the online gold dealer has a limit for online orders. Some companies require you to phone in your order if it is greater than $1,500. If you are not spending more than the required limit then you should be able to order online.

Find a business and check their BBB rating.

It is important to check the Better Business Bureau(BBB) rating for the business you are considering. This is the easiest way to know if a company is honest and will provide you with a fair sale. Check to see if they have a “customer testimonial” section and read what previous customers have said about the company. Finally, make sure that they list their contact information online. Look for their business address, phone number, and email address.

Once you have followed each of the steps above the last thing to do is to browse their shopping cart and make a section! Take your time before buy and do plenty of online research on gold! Thank you for reading this article and good luck from GoldVox.com!

Note: It is important to understand that should always consult with a professional broker when making any type of investment. Be smart! No one is going to protect your best interest except you!

The (supposed) angry ex-employee of Cash 4 Gold:

On my daily swim in the big Internet pool I decided to read over some of the older complaints that I had found. One of my favorite reads is from complaintsboard.com where a supposed ex-employee of Cash 4 Gold name “Sera” exposed them as a verified scam (or so she said). You can read the post here. It’s quite interesting even if it is a fictitious story. However, what I find even more interesting is the efforts made by Cash 4 Gold, Inc. to discredit the complaint. What Cash 4 Gold decided to do was write an entry in their official blog to clear the air.

Here is the link to Cash 4 Gold, Inc. blog telling consumers their side of the story: http://cash4gold.blogspot.com/2009/02/response-to-complaintsboard-article.html

My Conclusion:

It seems likely that the person who wrote the complaint could have been a former employee. I showed it to one of my friends who said the person could just be an angry employee that got fired because they sucked at customer service. Sure that’s possible, but it did seem strange that Cash 4 Gold went line by line trying to reclaim their reputation. The funny thing was it really came off more like a toned down justification of their actions with terms and conditions scattered within.

So, here is what I’ve decided to do. I’m going to see if I can find other employees that might have some insight on the Cash for Gold customer service industry and post their statements here on goldvox.com. Obviously, some of them might be locked into disclosures but I might be able to find some happy c4g customer service reps that can help me gain understand how real cash for gold businesses treat their customers!

Yes, I really did called my mom desperate for money because she tried to sell her jewelry to Cash 4 Gold. I didn’t even realize what I had said until it was too late.

Recently, I went over to a friends house for pizza and a movie. While I was at her house a ”Cash 4 Gold” advertisement came on. The first thing my friend said was ”This has to be a scam. Why would anyone send their stuff in the mail? They’re probably going to lie about what it’s worth and rip you off.” Now… I knew she was being rhetorical but as usual I couldn’t keep my mouth shut.

I said to her, “More than likely the people who fall for this are desperate for money!” We joked and agreed that what was more rediculous was how the advertisement was on around midnight when you know infomercials get scummy. The very next day my mom called me to asked if I knew anything about the people on TV who bought gold because she seen a commercial the night before and wanted to sell some of her old jewelry. Wow.. did I felt like a total jerk! I couldn’t believe I had called my own mom desperate for money the night before. I felt so bad I went ahead and told her I’d check it out and get back to her.

That same day I spend quite some time research online for junk gold buyers. I was VERY surprised because I found over 400+ cash for gold sites online! Now, you have to realize that I didn’t want my mom getting ripped off so I decided to google the keywords ”Cash 4 Gold Scam” and “Cash for Gold Scams”.

Man were there some teed off people! Some of the results I found were lengthy, anger filled blogs venting about how they got jipped and others were links to BBB complaints. I was cetain that something fishing was going on. I had to find a buyer for my mom because if I didn’t I was sure my mom would go to some strange pawn shop in a bad neighborhood. I kept searching until I finally narrowed it down to three sites. These are the buyers that I gave to my mom. They had the fewest (if any) complaints and seemed to be honest.

Empire Gold Buyers

CashforGoldUSA

MyGoldMailer

I really didn’t realize how many complaints where scattered online. It really bothered me to read what “some” companies had done to people in need of extra cash. I found stories that were pretty emotional and it made me rethink what I said about “people being desperate for money”. From that moment I was inspired and created GoldVox.com to help people find honest buyers and prevent someone like my mom, from being tricked at 12am during The Golden Girls.
